Tumbleweed Creative Arts is proud to present the World Premiere of an exciting new stage adaptation of Margery Williams's book, "The Velveteen Rabbit", created, crafted and performed by an ensemble of talented local artists.

The Story
In a dark and tangled forest on a far-off, distant island, a warren of brave rabbits work together to protect their woodland home. However, when one unruly rabbit's behavior attracts The Morrígan, a mischievous and strange forest spirit, they are cursed and are transformed into a stuffed toy. Unexpectedly, the toy rabbit gets scooped up and ends up in the arms of a little boy in a nearby village. This fateful union sparks a loving friendship that will change both the Boy and the Velveteen Rabbit in more ways than one.

The Production
Set to original music composed by Jesse Morgan, this immersive production is Tumbleweed's most ambitious new project to date. With handmade masks and costumes, inspired by fables and myths of the British Isles, "Velveteen" both enriches and expands on its beloved source material, acting as both an origin story and a companion piece to Williams's book. Artistic Director Andrew Munz leads this adaptation, which was built collaboratively with Jesse Morgan, a cast of 21 youth and adult actors, and an incredible team of artists and volunteers.

This exclusive 2-weekend engagement is not to be missed.
